http://christins.hubpages.com/hub/improve_writing
This is my latest writing hub over on HubPages. Learn how to overcome writer's block. Undo the programming that's been holding you back from writing your absolute best and improve speed all at the same time!
This hub features a couple of writing exercises that when combined, can bring your writing potential to life. Those who write well excel in a world of competition. I have written many hubs for writers in the past several months and I always post links to them here because I have a real passion for helping other writers find their true voice.
If you don't write for HubPages, you should definitely consider it. Their size makes it easy to get your content ranked fairly quickly, particularly if it is original and engaging. I use content there to cross promote my other projects, and I earn a nice bit of residual income doing so. The backlinks and the writer's community over there are fabulous. I have never been big on writing for other sites until I discovered them a little over a year ago.
If you would like to earn some money, write great content in an easy to use format, and gain the support of a great writer's community you should visit and sign up as well.

Today's Power Word: Beauty
Beauty
So often in our hectic lifestyles we forget to stop and smell the roses. Beauty is represented in so many of the things we take for granted. Life is sweeter in the moments we take to appreciate our senses and consciously enjoy our day for the unique gifts it has to offer. Even in life's most challenging times, there is always beauty waiting to be discovered.Today's Exercise:
Stop right where you are, and find 10 beautiful things. Write them down if you are able. it can be anything from a color to a scent.a piece of music playing in the background. It can be just having the wherewithal to appreciate your senses. What do you notice? Next time you feel the stress coming on take a few moments to indulge your senses and give your mind a rest. Look for the ten beautiful things surrounding you right in the moment. You will feel refreshed instantly, and the thing(s) which were troubling you will become more manageable. This is an exercise I haven't done for awhile - so I thought I would take a moment today and do it on the blog and share it. If you feel the urge - add to the list in the comments below!
the way my sons smile at me
the new kitchen cabinets we just refinished
the shade of blue on my wall
feeling healthy is a beautiful thing
my vision board on my wall - filled with beautiful things
the song of my soul
individuality
courage of my convictions
that feeling I get when I reach a goal I set for myself
the cat - he's so funny
the hardwood in my home - nothing like a beautiful old walnut staircase.
That took less than a minute and I surpassed the 10! :)
Do this for yourself and see how much more motivated and inspired you feel in less than two minutes!

True Religion
I love this quote. No matter what background you come from or what your lot in life, it is a simple spiritual practice. Be kind, listen to your heart, and educate and inform yourself. Do not allow ignorance or fear to blind you to your true inner spirit.
Sitting in a building once a week does not make one spiritual or enlightened or prove anything - it's what you do and who you are that truly matter.
I will be sharing more of these quotes graphics as I enjoy creating them and I find quotes to be a great tool for getting me back on track in life. Enjoy and feel free to pin or share :)
Live, Laugh, Love Wall Stickers for a simple beautiful reminder to place on the wall - love these! and there is no simpler philosophy.

Like Freedom of Information? Protect the Internet !
For my American friends,
Today is a day of protest across the internet and if you are not familiar with the issue of the SOPA/PIPA bills it is imperative that you become aware. The idea of stopping piracy and protecting intellectual property rights is noble. I am a writer and I have dealt with theft of my work - HOWEVER, these laws as written are dangerous and a threat to free speech and freedom of information. The threat is so real that many large web entities are participating vigorously (thankfully) to help put a halt to this.
These laws, if passed, would essentially put all websites at risk. If someone say visited my blog and used a copyrighted image or text - if someone complained, my site could be shut down by the government without warning and with no recourse. Is that what we want? All under the guise of protecting us from criminals? There will always be criminals - and they will find a way to circumvent any system - why should innocent people potentially suffer at the hands of unreasonable laws?
We cringe at human rights violations when other countries censor the internet (like China for example) - Don't let the citizens of our country meet the same fate because of Hollywood and entertainment industry lobbyists. They already HAVE the power to sue and get peer to peer sights shut down (remember Napster?) Think about it - These laws are too far reaching and a HUGE risk to a free people.
The freedom of information we enjoy every day should never be taken for granted - call or write to your representatives and tell them why you are against SOPA/PIPA and let's give these bills the knockout punch they deserve. It's easy to do type in http://www.google.com TODAY and on their landing page they link directly to the petition you can sign - a minute of your time for your freedom? Yes. I think so.
Sorry to go political on you all today - this issue however is extremely important to me. I have been passionate about it and fighting it for months now because I know how easily it can be used to put the deathblow on small businesses, not to mention what it has the potential to do for freedom of information. Thanks for hearing my side of the issue
